2026 // ÉCHALE GANAS

2026 // ÉCHALE GANAS

When I was a child and confronted with something I found challenging, my mother would say "échale ganas." It is a phrase commonly used in Mexico and while the direct translation is connected to putting in effort, "echarle ganas" can take on various meanings. It can convey a sense of determination, resilience and admiration. It was her way to encourage me to dig in and keep going.
As I worked on the pieces that would become this collection, the sound of my mother's voice saying " ¡échale ganas!" continually repeated itself. On days when my ability to find the quiet place in my mind to create felt especially tested, the phrase became a giant, flashing, neon sign. It drove me to make something, every day.
The pieces that became SS26 are linked by the resolution to not stop moving forward. The result is a collection that includes fibers characterized by their strength as much as their delicacy, forms that are gentle and revealing as much as they are fierce in what they convey, and exists because le heche ganas.
Each piece is meticulously made and one-of-a-kind.
