2024 // DIAS CALUROSOS

I took inspiration for this collection from hot days, when the sun's heat drives you in search of shade and finding it is like diving into cool waters. As with much of my work, I am trying to get the wearer to notice something about themselves, their environment and their movements. In the way heat can make us hyperaware of our own bodies, I wanted these pieces to bring your attention to the place where clothing meets skin. I chose to work with ultra fine Japanese silk, resulting in light, almost transparent articles. There is a sensuality in the ethereal lightness of these pieces. They behold incredible strength in the fibers of their make, yet this characteristic lives in the background, masked by the delicate design and playful colors that are more readily visible.
