The idea to do a photo shoot at Chicago's Garfield Park Conservatory was something photographer Austin Johnson and I had been talking about for years. The Dias Calurosos collection gave us the vehicle to use this magnificent environment as a backdrop.
This Chicago gem has long been a haven of mine. On the coldest of days, you can wander lush, humid spaces filled with giant palms, exotic flowers and pools filled with sunny koi swimming in the shadow of Chihuly sculptures.
Along with our beautiful model, Janae, the three of us embarked on an afternoon of capturing the images that would translate Dias Calurosos from a feeling I had been working with into visuals I could share with you.
